Irish Hiking Scarf

Irish Hiking Scarf Irish Hiking Scarf

Isn't it wonderful? I'm giving my hands a rest from the sock needles this morning and I cast on for something a bit bigger to practice my new cable-knitting skills. I'm a huge fan of Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted and I had some Tiger Lily in my stash to make what will be an extra-long scarf. The free pattern can be found here: Irish Hiking Scarf and there's a Knitalong too.

Cables look cool. Aye!

Oooh, I love the color! Bright and warm.

Oooh! Love the color! So pretty!

The scarf is beautiful. I have this pattern also and plan to knit it soon. I love the Trekking sock - what pattern are you using?

That color is *edible*! Nice to have such a cheerful beginning to a project.

I get scared of cabling. I HAVE done it, but it scares me.

I LOVE this scarf! I actually started it today! I feel very silly that I have been afraid to try cables. They are super simple! The one I am knitting is gray, but I love the orange. One of my favorite colors!
