Yarn & Pattern Giveaway :: Knit Picks Shadow Lace

It's been a while since I've had a giveaway, and I have a few in the works!

When I was asked to submit a pattern to Knit Picks for their Independent Designer Program, I had the opportunity to work with their Shadow Lace for the first time and I enjoyed it so much that I had to restrain myself from immediately placing an order for every color. I did, however, order two skeins of Vineyard Heather - a gorgeous deep purple heather:

Knit Picks Shadow Lace

Of those two skeins, I reserved one to give away here, along with my pattern for the Leaf Lace Scarf II, to one lucky blog reader. All you have to do is check out my updated blog sidebar and leave a comment on this entry telling me what you like or don't like about it. The changes are subtle -- just a few minor tweaks and the addition of my patterns for sale. Comments will be closed on Monday and I'll notify the winner on Tuesday morning.

Good luck! I'll have another giveaway next week . . . hint: it involves Malabrigo.

Your entire blog is an attractive place to visit.
Your side bar shows the pertinent items first and follows through to the less viewed.
Very good curb appeal :^)

Love the blog....great stuff:)

wish the thumbnails were a bit bigger to showcase your patterns better...and if being Uber picky..the "buy" buttons are not as aesthetic as the rest of the site...

Love your sense of style!

I've been reading your blog for years and always enjoy your posts. Keep up the good work!

I think the sidebar looks great. Everything is nice and orderly. Keep up the great work.

The sidebar looks great, though I would move your recent posts higher, definitely above your full archive, maybe even above that so that people can easily access more of your wonderful writing!

The thumbnails on the side look very professional. Good luck with the pattern sales. Have a good weekend.

I love the break down of crochet and knitting blogs, AND the fact that they are alphabetical. I'm always using your list to find a new blog and pretty new yarn like the shadow lace.

I guess I never really noticed what your sidebar looked like before, but Ilove the thumbnail photos of your patterns. I downloaded one of your free patterns last year and have made it over and over for grandchildren. I also love your seperating the knitting and crocheting. It's all good Love the yarn

It looks very clean and neat. Love the thumbnails.

I love the photos at the top...cute sock monkey and such a beautiful and colorful blanket.

I like the simple straightforward 'list' style organization of the sidebar, especially having 'search' at the top (often hard to find on websites) and the way patterns are listed.
Would love to win the yarn.
Also, like the blogheading. Sock monkeys rule!

You've got a fabulous site and I think the sidebar is set up very well -- like the photos of your patterns being at the top. I might have put your archive lists ahead of blogs you like (just so I can navigate your site without having to scroll down so far) but it's not something I would have even mentioned if you hadn't asked. What kind of a camera do you have? Your photos are always so terrific.

I like it - very neat and organized. Like the new header too!

I agree with the others...clean look, easy to navigate. I have been following for awhile now - since I visited the store and happened on to one of your projects. Thanks for the giveaway.

I like how I know have to click on another box to get to the patterns. They are all right there to see. Good job!

Just a suggestion... your list of blog links is supa-long. The gadget that rotates your blog list of the newest 10 or 20 posts & includes a pic & a little snippet or title would add some freshness to the list. It also shows up as a link back when you comment on one of those blogger's posts. HTH! I do like your gray on gray colorscheme-- very classic. Thanks for the giveaway.

I think your blog looks nice and clean, and very easy to maneuver around. I like the thumbnails of the projects right at the top.

I have to say that I don't look much at the side bars of the many blogs I follow (otherwise, I would discover too many new nice blogs that I would want to read too!), but it looks different! I think I remember there used to be a photo of you at the top!

I love your new sidebar!
Very clean.

Everything looks fresh and neat, your photos are very crisp and clear too.

The new sidebar is very clear and easy to navigate.
The photos are also very appealing and break up the text - I always like to see where I'm going before I click :0)

Your new sidebar is very clean and neat. I like that you have photos and that your search bar is right at the top. If I were going to change anything, I would move the archives and the recent posts links up a bit. :)

Greetings. I just found your blog last week. And, have been coming back to it daily since... My reason for coming back is precisely because everything is set up so well and very appealing on the eye. The side bar looks great. I would like to note that a few of your knitting blog links don't exist--Esoteric Knitter and Dogged Knits.

Great stuff my friend! Twisted Knitter: Yarn & Pattern Giveaway :: Knit Picks Shadow Lace was a wonderful read. Love reading stuff about this.

I like the pictures with the patterns

Well I don't have access to a computer as much as a used to, and just found your blog today through a search. I will be adding your blog to my bookmarks. Can't comment too much on the changes you've made since I don't know what it looked like previous lol ... but it's a very inviting blog! Thanks!

I like your blog, and I've used your sidebar quite often to find other blogs to look at. Thanks for all that you share!

Ooops. Wrong post. Found your sidebar clear, convenient, concise.

I really enjoy your blog and this yarn is so pretty. I like your sidebar. It is well organized and easy to read. I particularly like that the patterns are easy to get to and the links to other bloggers.

I enjoy reading your blog and seeing your latest projects. The sidebar is convenient and showcases your patterns well. I especially like how we can click the pictures to see an enlarged view.

1. Your blog archive is long enough that you might consider changing to a dropdown list to save space. Blogger offers this, I don't know if your provider does.

2. Did you notice that all but one entry on your recent posts list is aready on the opening page? That makes it a bit redundant to even have the list.

3. This isn't really about your sidebar, but if you set your blog to show fewer entries per page, it would load faster, especially since it includes so many lovely photos (over 35 on the opening page). I keep my monitor at 1600x1200 resolution and to view everything on your main page I still had to hit the "Page Down" key 25 times. It takes only 7 to get to the end of your sidbar. That might be a better length for the entries as well. Then the Recent Post list makes sense.

Having made these suggestions, I do want to say you have a really nice and interesting blog.

I like the sidebar - great way to showcase your patterns. Thanks for the giveaway.

I like it. All the important stuff is at the top (the patterns) and it's clear and easy to read.

I want to point two things, one good and one bad.

I love the fact that the patterns are listed upfront. It portrays you as a serious knitter and for me, it is easy to find what you have designed.

The blogroll is too long. You might have put all those links as a respect to fellow knitters, but as a reader, I don't find it useful at all. I would never click on each of those links to see if any blog catches my attention.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I really like the organization of the sidebar, but I think the categories list ought to be above the blogroll. I'm much more likely to use the categories and the blogroll is so long that the categories are hard to find.

I like being able to see the thumbnail images of the patterns!

Very easy to navigate with the sidebar and thumbnails. I do agree that the blogroll is a bit lengthy. But you have a very accessible and easy to follow blog. Great stuff!

Is it too late to comment? I really like the picture/thumbnails and how easy it is to see the patterns.
BTW, the sheep blanket was just beautiful!!! loved it!
